Connecting. Growing together. The Associate Director of Clinical Compensation is responsible for the administration, analysis, compliance, and ongoing management of provider compensation programs. This role serves as a key business partner to Finance, Human Resources, Physician Leadership, and Operations, ensuring compensation plans are market-competitive, compliant, and aligned with organizational objectives. The position requires expertise in provider compensation methodologies, productivity analytics, regulatory compliance, and financial analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
  • 8+ years of provider compensation experience, including compensation analysis, provider productivity metrics, and physician practice operations
  • Proven solid understanding of provider compensation models, market benchmarking, productivity measures, and incentive plan design
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare regulatory requirements, including Stark Law and the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS)
  • Experience utilizing provider compensation benchmark and survey data, including SullivanCotter or comparable market sources
  • Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional projects from planning through execution
  • Proven solid analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 10%25 to 15%25 as needed

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual Provider Compensation Survey process, including preparation of the SullivanCotter survey submission, supporting Excel workbooks, questionnaires, and internal compliance reviews
  • Conduct annual reviews of Advanced Practice Clinician (APC) and Primary Care Provider (PCP) compensation models, evaluating performance, market competitiveness, and emerging compensation strategies
  • Analyze and recommend enhancements to provider compensation programs and incentive structures
  • Document annual compensation plan reviews, including quality-based incentive measures and performance metrics
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process by providing provider compensation projections and financial analyses
  • Develop and maintain provider compensation plan documents, provider guides, and support materials for internal distribution and recruitment initiatives
  • Ensure provider compensation programs comply with applicable regulations, including Stark Law and Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS) requirements
  • Administer provider compensation changes, including FTE adjustments, salary updates, and related payroll transactions
  • Process non-base compensation payments, including session payments, on-call compensation, mentoring stipends, and other supplemental earnings
  • Calculate and administer quarterly and annual provider incentive payments, ensuring accuracy, obtaining required approvals, and coordinating with payroll for timely processing
  • Manage provider loan reimbursement programs, including tracking and administering payments throughout multi-year repayment terms
  • Maintain schedules and controls for providers receiving guaranteed incentive payments.
  • Monitor new Physician Incentive payment programs, ensuring compliance with established policies and controls
  • Partner with Finance and Payroll teams to reconcile provider compensation-related expenses and resolve discrepancies
  • Perform provider productivity and compensation analyses utilizing benchmark and market survey data
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and financial models to support compensation planning and decision-making
  • Conduct ad hoc financial, operational, and compensation analyses as requested by leadership.
  • Lead and support complex provider compensation initiatives, projects, and process improvement efforts
  • Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership and key stakeholders
