About The Position

The Associate Director of Business Systems & Data Analysis is a vital member of the leadership team in Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) Operations. This role is responsible for the management of applications that support critical business processes and for leading complex projects that meet major divisional and enterprise priorities. The position leads a team responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the technology and data management systems used to support international accreditation and certification. This team will work collaboratively with Information Technology (IT) and other divisions across the Enterprise to ensure that the portfolio of applications and their associated business processes meet operational needs.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree required.
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience with an emphasis in business operations, data analysis, business/technology systems.
  • 1 to 2 years previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated experience in performing detailed data analysis in efficient and scalable ways.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a combination of business knowledge and technical expertise with strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Significant project management experience, including the ability to manage multi-faceted projects with complex deliverables and aggressive deadlines.
  • Must occasionally be available during evening and weekend hours to support application promotions.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s preferred.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission policies and processes preferred.
  • Certification in one or more project management methodologies, such as Six Sigma or Project Management Professional (PMP), is preferred.
  • Intermediate data analysis skills, with tools such as Excel, BI, is preferred.
  • Experience with Agile methodology in software development and IT development lifecycle, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages a team of accreditation business analysts, overseeing recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluation, goal setting, and resource assignment.
  • Manages and provides oversight to a growing portfolio of applications supporting JCIA customers throughout the accreditation/certification processes and the full application lifecycle.
  • Manages simultaneous, high-priority application/project timelines and prioritizes application changes to support the company’s mission and vision.
  • Manages resource allocations, coordinating with IT management and other key stakeholders.
  • Oversees application development, critical application downtime support, and facilitates immediate resolution of application issues to ensure business continuity.
  • Creates business testing plans, executes testing, and provides final sign-off on deliverables.
  • Manages support for technology upgrades to critical business applications, including database migrations, cloud readiness, security upgrades, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Supports, reviews, and approves official content in the non-scoring chapters of the accreditation/certification manual, as needed.
  • Mentors Business Analysts on project and application lifecycle, business processes, policies, application functionality, best practices, and critical/creative thinking.
  • Leads partnerships with cross-enterprise key stakeholders to ensure alignment with enterprise initiatives and directives, presenting to and facilitating conversations with senior leaders.
  • Serves as Subject Matter Expert on the full portfolio of business applications, understanding business requirements, integration of processes and policies, and emerging technologies.
  • Leads new product development and other Enterprise Strategic projects initiatives within the business applications.
  • Serves as Data Steward for the portfolio of applications, managing JCIA data assets, adherence to data policies (e.g., GDPR, Data Governance, Records Retention), and representing JCIA in the Enterprise Information Management Committee.
  • Analyzes data for internal analysis purposes and interprets data to inform secondary uses of data assets.
  • Leads application redesigns and new application development, including multi-year, multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Defines goals and objectives for projects, including assessing emerging technologies and drafting business cases.
  • Manages project activities such as resource planning, risk analysis, MVP approval, Voice of Customer management, stakeholder expectation management, and overseeing all project phases.
  • Assists the Executive Director with budget management activities, including planning, forecasting, vendor approvals, and requisitions.
  • Oversees vendor management activities, including contracts, SOWs, invoice approvals, performance monitoring, inventory management, and change orders.
  • Serves as back-up to the Executive Director, JCIA.
