About The Position

As the Associate Director of Mental Health Clinics, you will hold primary responsibility for the administrative oversight of JASA’s OMH Article 31 clinic programs and the Living in Place Program. This senior leadership role ensures that clinical operations meet the highest standards of care while remaining fully compliant with state and city regulatory bodies, including OMH, DoHMH, DFTA, and Medicaid/Medicare. You will drive program productivity, manage complex billing frameworks, and spearhead the development of new mental health initiatives. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW), Public Administration (MPA), or an equivalent graduate degree in Counseling, Gerontology, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in program supervision and management.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace, with the ability to quickly master program-specific EHR software.
  • Ability to travel across NYC using mass transit.
  • Professional maturity, excellent judgment, and a deep appreciation for the roles of race, religion, ethnicity, and sexual orientation in client care.

Nice To Haves

  • Current New York State License in Social Work (LMSW/LCSW) is preferred.
  • Direct experience overseeing medical and insurance billing frameworks is highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to provide professional supervision and motivation to social work, accounting, and support staff.

Responsibilities

  • Direct overall administration of clinic operations; ensure absolute compliance with OMH, DoHMH, DFTA, and Medicaid/Medicare guidelines.
  • Oversee medical billing and budget processes using JASA’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) system in coordination with Finance and IT teams.
  • Track and optimize clinic productivity; implement ongoing utilization review procedures and design strategic quality assurance projects.
  • Provide direct supervision to the Program Director of the Living in Place program; oversee personnel recruitment and review the performance of multidisciplinary staff.
  • Coordinate and lead the clinic's Incident Review Committee and the Consumer Advisory Committee.
  • Provide administrative coverage for the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program as needed, including triage for client emergencies.
  • Develop robust outreach and marketing strategies to elevate JASA’s mental health programs; represent the agency at major community conferences and stakeholder meetings.
  • Assess operational problem areas, implement corrective action plans, and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports for senior leadership.
  • Act as a core member of the JASA Services Leadership Team, shaping agency policy and operational excellence.
  • Partner directly with the Chief Program Officer and Chief Business Development Officer to pioneer new mental health programs and secure innovative funding.
  • Broaden your executive reach by managing clinic operations, the Living in Place initiative, and providing administrative support to the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team.
