About The Position

The Associate Director, Medical Education Marketing, US Congress and TLL Asset Lead will lead national strategy and execution for Alnylam’s US congress presence and the Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) marketing and insights. This individual will lead the development of innovative and high-impact initiatives that support brand goals, close educational gaps, and elevate AMVUTTRA’s presence across key stakeholder groups. This role requires a visionary, cross-functional leader who can drive strategic alignment across the organization, lead enterprise-wide initiatives, and serve as an internal champion for HCP education. Reporting to the Director of Medical Education Marketing, the Associate Director will lead the planning and execution of Alnylam’s commercial presence at US medical congresses and related content development. This role will collaborate cross functionally and with marketing and medical partners to ensure congress tactics are scientifically accurate, compliant, and aligned with brand strategy. This position is based in Cambridge, MA with travel up to 35-40% for congresses and internal planning meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech marketing, healthcare consulting, or healthcare agency with a focus on HCP engagement, medical education, or peer-to-peer strategy preferred.
  • Ability to navigate a dynamic, fast-paced environment by managing competing and complex priorities and engaging with cross-functional partners to ensure goals are met efficiently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrate a meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality across all deliverables, communications, and project components.
  • Deep understanding of compliance requirements and experience in highly regulated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute congress education strategy, including symposia, product theaters, booth content, and congress sponsorships; ensure compliant development of all promotional materials.
  • Provide on-site support and leadership during national and key regional congresses. Lead and oversee congress booth staff for scheduling, training, and certification. Organize post-event readouts to cross-functional leadership.
  • Optimize AMVUTTRA’s congress sponsorship and attendance. Work with field colleagues to identify new congresses for the team to sponsor / attend and to re-evaluate spend across congresses from year to year.
  • Foster relationships with medical associations leadership to represent Alnylam and identify opportunities to collaborate on education for association members.
  • Lead strategy and development of resources for the Thought Leader Liaison (TLL) field team to support engagement with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), including peer-to-peer interactive discussions and timely insight questions. Ensure compliant development and appropriate training and implementation guidance.
  • Lead the end-to-end KOL insights process, including development of insight-gathering questions, training Thought Leader Liaisons, coordinating insight reporting, and ensuring effective cross-functional sharing and pull-through of actionable insights.
  • Develop and execute KOL-led education and training sessions for field teams to support internal clinical expertise and reinforce key messaging.
  • Partner with Medical, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, and field teams to ensure all educational initiatives meet regulatory standards and strategic objectives.
  • Establish metrics to evaluate effectiveness of congress attendance and activations; continuously refine strategy based on insights and performance data.
  • Oversee external partners supporting content development, logistics, and execution across educational initiatives.
  • Maintain deep understanding of disease area, HCP learning needs, and evolving industry best practices to inform education strategy.
