About The Position

The Associate Director, Market Access Contracting reports to the Sr. Director, Market Access Contracting. This individual will negotiate and manage market access contracts across Sanofi's purchase and distribution channel markets – including Specialty Pharmacies, Institutional GPO’s, Oncology GPO’s, Hospitals, IDN’s, Physicians, Retailers, Wholesalers, and more. This individual will provide support on all new agreements, language negotiations, contract renewals and serve as the contracting subject matter expert while ensuring alignment with internal cross-functional stakeholders. As an integral member of the Market Access Contracting team, this position acts as a strategic advisor and collaborates extensively with Trade and Channel Management, Specialty Care Market Access Strategy, Market Access Legal, and other commercial teams. This role significantly contributes to successful product launches and ongoing commercial success across Sanofi's portfolio. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years of experience in the US pharmaceutical industry, with emphasis on contracting, pricing, or other areas of market access
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • External influence and negotiation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence a matrix team
  • High level of business maturity, interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, produce high quality work and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of market, trends, and opportunities in the Sanofi portfolio

Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely review, development, and implementation of contract proposals
  • Manage the timely development, negotiation and execution of all contract documents, in partnership with Trade Channel Management, Specialty Care Market Access Strategy, Market Access Legal, and Specialty Pharmacies/Customers
  • Oversee/maintain the tracking of all contract document activity and touch points from inception through final execution
  • Communicate contract status and key information to internal stakeholders, as requested.
  • Serve as an advisor, delivering insights to help drive strategic contracting decisions.
  • Implement and execute brand strategies and operational efficiencies through contracts
  • Work closely with the Senior Director, Market Access Contracting to achieve contracting objectives for Sanofi's product portfolio
  • Represent Market Access Contracting to internal and external stakeholders across therapeutic areas
  • Support and mentor team members through onboarding, professional development, and project delivery
  • Partner with Trade Channel Management and Specialty Care Market Access Strategy to develop and execute contract strategy for current and launch products
  • Work with Trade Channel Management, Specialty Care Market Access Strategy, and Market Access Legal to assess contract risks and benefits
  • Partner with Contract Operations to ensure proper system set-up of pricing terms and payments
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership and field teams, identifying key contracting questions and delivering actionable solutions to ensure success of contracting
  • Maintain effective communications with cross-functional teams
  • Communicate opportunities, challenges, and timelines with internal partners
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of contract management process improvements including through automation and AI
  • Provide insights on significant contracting/market issues
  • Stay current on industry trends impacting contracting
