About The Position

Alexion, AstraZeneca Rare Disease is hiring an Associate Director, Market Access Contract Analytics to turn payer and provider contract data into decisions that advance patient access and protect portfolio value. The role evaluates financial and access implications of contracts between Alexion and U.S. payers, PBMs, specialty pharmacies, distributors, health systems, and provider organizations. It supports pre-deal strategy, post-deal performance assessment, gross-to-net forecasting, and recommendations to Market Access leadership and account teams.

The position is based onsite in Boston, Massachusetts, with a minimum of three days per week in the office. Remote work is not available. Travel may be up to 15%.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• At least 6 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years of direct manufacturer-side experience in U.S. Market Access, Pricing & Contracting, or Contract Analytics.
• Demonstrated experience evaluating pharmaceutical manufacturer contracts before and after execution, including rebate or discount economics, access assumptions, gross-to-net impact, and return on investment.
• Direct experience within the Market Access function of a pharmaceutical or biotechnology manufacturer; healthcare consulting, data-vendor, payer, provider, contract-administration, procurement, or general commercial analytics experience alone does not meet this requirement.
• Working knowledge of U.S. commercial and government payer and provider business models, contracting strategies, and reimbursement under medical and pharmacy benefits.
• Ability to use large data sets to model scenarios and communicate insights concisely to senior leaders.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, such as pivot tables and scenario models.
• Strong business acumen, a patient-focused mindset, and the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
• Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, highly accountable environment, individually and through cross-functional teams.
• Ability to travel up to 15%.

Nice To Haves

• MBA, MPH, or another advanced degree.
• At least 7 years of experience in U.S. biotech, biopharma, or pharmaceutical market access analytics.
• Rare disease contract analytics experience in biopharma or pharmaceuticals.
• Experience completing quantitative and qualitative analyses of complex business proposals.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate commercial payer, PBM, Medicare, Medicaid, specialty pharmacy, health-system, and provider contracting scenarios.
• Assess rebate exposure, discount structures, formulary access, utilization-management terms, volume assumptions, price-concession risk, and gross-to-net impact.
• Develop pre-deal financial models, contract guardrails, walk-away thresholds, and approval recommendations.
• Measure post-deal performance against contracted access, utilization, share, revenue, rebate, and profitability assumptions.
• Translate payer and account insights into contracting recommendations for Market Access leadership.
• Partner with Pricing, Finance, Government Pricing, Account Management, Forecasting, Legal, and Contract Operations.
• Support governance or review forums for payer and provider contract decisions.
• Present contract recommendations, financial trade-offs, and risk assessments to relevant leaders.
