About The Position

RBC Capital Markets LLC seeks an Associate Director, Lead Software Developer in Jersey City, NJ with expertise in Algo containers for Credit Bond markets. This role involves working closely with the desk on Algo strategy integration, with exposure to all Electronic checks and validations. The position requires knowledge of various market data like Trace, CBBT, CP+, TRAX for Algo integrations. The developer will be responsible for integration expertise for various Credit Bond & CDX market eTrading client channels across TradeWeb, MarketAxess, BondPort, BondPoint, TMC for institutional and retail channels across US and Europe markets. This includes single line RFQ, Algo trading, Aggressing or Portfolio trading from front to back, including user interface integrations using FIX or other vendor API, along with knowledge of various RFQ and Portfolio trading protocols. The role also entails understanding detailed business requirements, proposing and discussing technical software design for assigned coding tasks, coding, performing development testing, building and releasing changes, and championing DevOps usage across all release artifacts. The Associate Director will interact effectively with the global development team (Lon, NY, Tor, India), including business analytics and quality assurance, by reviewing proposed technical design and code changes. They will also interact with US and EUR Credit traders and FICC IT Support in New York, Toronto & London to understand requirements and issues, provide timely turnaround on issues and queries, and respond to users and support on application functionality related issues and inquiries. A key aspect of this role is to proactively identify operational risks and control deficiencies in the business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
  • 7 years of progressively responsible experience with hands-on coding with Server & UI frameworks (full stack)
  • Proficiency in Java 17 and above with proficiency in Java concurrency, virtual threads, JFR and GC Tuning
  • Hands-on coding in KDB, .Net, WPF, C#, HTML5, ReactJS, JavaScript
  • Hands-on coding in server-side Java, Messaging and Event processing across multiple streams
  • 5 years of experience in Algo and Bond eTrading Front office applications
  • Coding with Solace, FIX protocols & ION API
  • Coding with relational DB (SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle)
  • Experience with DevoOs tools (Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory)
