About The Position

The Associate Director of Information Technology (IT) Finance, working at the direction of the The Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) Sr. Director Business Operations/PMO, is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, vision and direction on Medical Center IT fiscal planning, prioritization and execution that are tied directly to the Wexner Medical Center’s strategic business objectives and three mission areas. This person makes decisions concerning strategic initiatives through a demonstrated ability to use broad-based business information and knowledge and must identify the Information Technology core technological and business strengths, leveraging advantages and capitalizing on corporate knowledge. Works closely with senior leadership, management, vendors, customers, business units, colleagues, and other stakeholders to identify and maximize opportunities for fiscal planning and management. The individual is responsible for overseeing modeling and budgeting for all OSUWMC IT business units including external customer business units. The individual is responsible for the strategic planning, fiscal reporting, long range strategic planning, financial forecasting and calculating project financial viability for Information Technology functions across Wexner Medical Center. This position will provide guidance to the OSUWMC CIO on strategic and operational fiscal matters; will work directly with OSUWMC IT senior leadership and management team on the preparation of the annual budget; coordinates annual budget meetings, and develop metrics and procedures for monitoring budgetary and financial performance; develops financial processes and procedures to ensure adherence to financial controls internally and externally as appropriate; will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to maximize the benefit of IT fiscal resources and make recommendations based on the financial returns of those resources to support the strategic decision process.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent in the field of business administration, Accounting, Finance, or Management information systems
  • At least 10 years related work experience in a similarly complex organization.
  • 7 years of financial management experience
  • At least 3 years of leadership/management responsibility
  • Extensive experience with strategic budget planning and finance
  • Ability to prepare the financial plan, budget and financial forecasts as required
  • Proven considerable experience with business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data modeling.
  • Extensive practical knowledge in importing data for use in report software, spreadsheets, graphs, and flowcharts.
  • Ability to apply statistical and other research methods into systems issues and projects as required.
  • Some knowledge of project management skills and project management methodology
