The Associate Director, Global Medical Oncology, Medical Communications, Hematology position reports to the Director of Medical Communications within Global Medical Oncology (GMO). This role is responsible for developing and executing medical communication strategies to ensure the disclosure of scientific and health economic value of BMS products and research data to Healthcare Providers, Patients, and Payers, adhering to local regulations. The role involves ensuring timely and high-quality medical publications, scientific content, medical education, medical information, and congress presentations. It requires understanding communication needs across markets and driving the Scientific Narrative, publication plan, content plan, and application to the Scientific Communication Platform (SCP). The position also involves leading the development of medical communications, ensuring timely journal submissions, publications, congress presentations, and delivery of scientific content. Strong business acumen is needed to manage the Medical Communications budget and allocate resources effectively. The role serves as a subject matter expert on the communication landscape, HCP preferences, publication planning, and data disclosure. It also involves leading internal process improvements to maintain ethical and credible publication practices, ensuring alignment with Good Publication Practices and industry standards. Oversight of the team for the development and execution of integrated medical communications plans, with adjustments based on clinical trial results and healthcare landscape changes, is crucial. The role requires demonstrating scientific/research expertise to foster collaborations with internal and external experts for data analysis, interpretation, communication planning, and dissemination. It also involves identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, operating procedures, and outsourcing strategies. Stakeholder engagement includes fostering relationships with academic and clinical experts, publishers, and medical associations, and collaborating with internal stakeholders across Medical, Customer Engagement, Field Medical Excellence, Congress Strategy, and Training & Compliance. External partnerships with 3rd party vendors are also key, along with establishing and communicating metrics to demonstrate outcomes.
