About The Position

The Associate Director Forecasting role leads end‑to‑end demand and revenue forecasting for AbbVie’s US Oncology brands. It owns the development, enhancement, and governance of forecasting models across all planning cycles (LBE, Plan, LRP) and delivers insights that guide strategic and financial decisions. The position partners closely with Commercial, Marketing, Market Access, Finance, Operations, and senior leadership. It reports to the Franchise Finance Director and manages one direct report.

Requirements

  • 8–10 years of experience in commercial finance, cost accounting, audit, and FP&A; forecasting and pharma experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Strong strategic thinking, capable of identifying value drivers and translate into actionable steps.
  • Ability to interpret market research and competitive events and translate into financial impacts.
  • Proven problem‑solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated influence across functions and levels without direct authority.
  • Proficiency with SAP, BPC, PowerBI, and Excel.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA/Master’s in Accounting or Finance and / or CPA.
  • Biopharma industry and/or supporting a commercial/marketing organization experience.
  • US Commercial experience and knowledge of the financial planning process.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and harmonization of Oncology forecasting models aligned with business strategy and planning timelines.
  • Translate complex data into clear, compliant narratives that support strategic decision-making.
  • Drive LBE, Plan, LRP, and S&OP forecast cycles in partnership with Commercial and Finance teams.
  • Integrate actuals into forecasting models and ensure accurate revenue projections.
  • Analyze trends, risks, opportunities, and key business drivers.
  • Present sales performance and forecast insights to Commercial VPs and Marketing Directors.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis for audits, product launches, channel and product mix, and other business needs.
  • Apply knowledge of forecasting methodologies, market dynamics, primary research, competitive intelligence, and syndicated data.
  • Lead month-end close activities, including Price, Pipeline, Demand variance analysis, and performance commentary.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations and APEX to align supply and demand forecasts and incorporate market and competitor insights.
  • Drive process improvements while fostering an inclusive team culture and developing high-performing, cross-functional teams.
