About The Position

ORIX USA is seeking an Enterprise Cloud Architect to lead the architecture and engineering of cloud platforms for a highly regulated financial organization. This role will primarily focus on Microsoft Azure while maintaining proficiency in Amazon Web Services (AWS) and other cloud services. The Cloud Architect will provide strategic direction, design scalable solutions, and ensure compliance with industry regulations. This position will lead a team of onshore and offshore engineers within a managed service provider (MSP) model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or System/Computer is preferred (Master’s preferred).
  • 8+ years in Cloud engineering, with 3+ years in cloud architecture role
  • Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure and strong working knowledge of AWS.
  • Experience leading distributed teams, including offshore resources and MSP engagements.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing secure cloud solutions in highly regulated environments.
  • Proficiency in Terraform, ARM templates, or similar IaC tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization.
  • Strong understanding of networking, identity management, and security principles in cloud environments.
  • Proven experience managing distributed Cloud engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in financial services.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in implementing Technical specifications
  • Worked on ITIL incident, problem, and service request resolution for customers
  • Experience in production incident handling, Change Requests, and Change management
  • Create and maintain support documentation (operation run book, data flow diagrams, architecture diagrams, Incident responses, RCA's)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Customer service and quality-focused with proven process improvement skills
  • Innovative problem solving, research, and analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work effectively
  • Highly motivated self-starter

Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Engineering Leadership Define and maintain the enterprise cloud architecture roadmap aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Design secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud solutions primarily on Azure, with integration and interoperability across AWS.
  • Establish cloud governance frameworks, standards, and best practices.
  • Manages annual budget and contracts for Cloud services.
  • Maintains Cloud services roadmap and ensures execution of the roadmap through demand pipelines.
  • Drives Cloud service modernization efforts and stays current with emerging technologies.
  • Drive adoption of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
  • Team & Vendor Management Lead and mentor a distributed team of MSP-provided engineers across onshore and offshore locations.
  • Review and approve Cloud solution architecture, standards, and diagrams created by MSP.
  • Serves as the primary liaison with the MSP for Cloud providing oversight and ensuring business requirements are being delivered.
  • Monitor KPIs and SLAs to ensure high performance and accountability from service providers.
  • Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to evaluate and onboard new technologies and services.
  • Oversee implementation of cloud infrastructure, automation, and orchestration solutions.
  • Operational Excellence Optimize cloud performance, reliability, and cost management.
  • Establish monitoring, alerting, and disaster recovery strategies for cloud workloads.
  • Compliance & Risk Management Partner with cybersecurity teams to implement robust controls and respond to audits and assessments.
  • Maintain documentation and change management processes aligned with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to financial industry regulations (e.g., FINRA, SOX, etc.).
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement robust identity, access management, and encryption strategies.
  • Collaboration & Communication Work closely with application, cloud, and infrastructure teams to support business initiatives.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Cloud technologies and trends.
