About The Position

This role will report to the Associate Vice President of Global EHS and be focused on Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) strategy and transformation. You will lead a team responsible for defining EHS training, programs, conducting risk assessments, calibrating the EHS priorities against injury and illness data, benchmarking, auditing, developing the EHS management system strategy, defining driver safety initiatives, and complying with DOT requirements. You will also be responsible for identifying opportunities to transform the EHS function, including identifying opportunities for efficiencies and automation, budgetary savings, and the development of improved data and analytics regarding EHS activities. The ideal candidate is an effective leader and strategic thinker who motivates and inspires a team that develops and implements programs for enterprise-wide EHS compliance. Experience implementing transformation initiatives, working with complex sources of data, and implementing KPIs, KRIs, and other data-based metrics is required. Strong collaboration, communication, writing, research, and analytical skills are essential, along with being results-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced and challenging environment. The role requires anticipating needs and issues, proactively identifying appropriate solutions, working independently, multitasking, and maintaining confidential information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Experience with compliance and regulations.
  • Experience with Google Suite (docs, sheets, slides, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Managing and supporting the development and growth of a dynamic team of EHS professionals to optimize EHS programs and centralized compliance program implementation.
  • Leading EHS transformation efforts.
  • Developing EHS strategies, reviewing risk assessments, and developing team member targets for business operations’ compliance and oversight.
  • Overseeing the development and communication of EHS programs designed to assist the business in implementing consistent and standard EHS practices that comply with Federal, State, and local environmental regulations associated with wired and wireless telecommunications operations.
  • Leading auditing and inspection initiatives that monitor EHS and business unit performance, conduct trend analyses, and implement improvements to EHS programs and supporting functions to enhance EHS performance.
  • Monitoring and reporting corrective action closure, ensuring that timely, compliant, and sustainable solutions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
  • Staying updated with industry trends and best practices to identify and implement data-driven solutions that enhance and communicate environmental capabilities and performance.
