We are expanding the team of talented scientists who seek to build the future of small molecule drug discovery with creativity and innovation. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced drug discovery biologist join our growing Discovery Biology team. The successful candidate brings significant hands-on expertise in cell-based assay development and enablement to drive early drug discovery programs. The successful candidate will lead from the bench and contribute to biology strategy and execution across Superluminal programs.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Biology or related field with 8+ years experience in industry required
  • Significant hands-on experience in cell-based assay development, execution and interpretation across a broad range of assays and platforms (functional, target engagement, kinetic, plate-based, flow cytometry, high content imaging)
  • Demonstrated success leading and driving exploratory and early discovery projects to key decision points
  • Experience managing direct reports and mentoring junior scientists
  • Creative, self-motivated, willing to take risks and thrives in a high-performing, fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Lead from the bench: this role is hands-on and wet lab-focused to drive programs from hit finding through all phases of early discovery
  • Independently design, develop and execute a broad array of cell-based assays to interrogate GPCR function and signaling
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with computational, chemistry and protein science colleagues to conceptualize, design, and execute novel screening assays
  • Lead program(s) and manage/mentor junior scientist(s)
  • Contribute to project and department strategy and bridge discovery biology efforts with pharmacology and translational sciences
  • Regularly communicate findings with program teams and present at project & company-wide meetings
