About The Position

Avania is seeking an Associate Director, Customer Solutions to act as a clinical operations expert during the business development and proposal phase. This role will guide prospective clients on the optimal execution of their medical device clinical studies and how Avania can provide support. The position involves close collaboration with Business Development, budgeting and proposal teams, clinical operations, and subject matter experts. While primarily focused on pre-contract award opportunities, there will be occasional involvement in operational handoffs and post-award consultations.

Responsibilities

  • Join prospective client calls as an Avania clinical operations expert, building confidence through informed, practical guidance.
  • Discuss a broad range of medical devices, therapeutic areas, protocols, and clinical study execution approaches with clients.
  • Ask the right questions during intake calls to clarify client needs, study requirements, and the services Avania should propose.
  • Help scope accurate budgets by reviewing roles, hours, tasks, patient and site assumptions, indications, and project complexity.
  • Partner with budgeting and proposal teams to develop accurate, strategically informed proposals and presentation materials.
  • Review protocols and translate clinical and operational considerations into clear recommendations for clients and internal teams.
  • Identify and engage the appropriate subject matter experts, including advisory, regulatory, and therapeutic-area specialists, for client calls or proposal input.
  • Use Claude and other approved tools to support the development of proposal and presentation content.
  • Support handoffs to clinical operations when work is awarded, sharing client priorities, scoping decisions, protocol considerations, and recommended execution approaches.
  • Provide occasional guidance to operational teams when questions arise about the original scope or proposed study strategy.
