Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Communications experience.
  • Powerhouse writing skills, including the ability to quickly turn around messaging across formats - long form, social, email, video, etc.
  • Experience influencing partners.
  • Experience navigating complex and matrixed organizations with numerous stakeholders.
  • Experience driving internal and external strategies and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Help tell the story of the new Verizon and its way forward on behalf of the company and leadership to engage and inspire our stakeholders – employees, media and customers.
  • Develop and execute executive internal and external communications strategies to drive our reputation and brand, inside the company and out.
  • Develop integrated communications strategies and supporting narratives and plans across key initiatives.
  • Create and deliver engaging content across a mix of communications channels (i.e., executive communications, social media, Slacks, videos, articles, op-eds, and events).
  • Provide strategic guidance on messaging and effective communications as well as the development and hands-on execution of communications tactics.
  • Monitor the external landscape, best practices social and content trends to be on the cutting edge of communications.
  • Track and measure results and iterate on strategies accordingly.
  • Manage projects, including developing timelines, crafting and reviewing content, providing design guidance or support, ensuring deliverables are completed on time, etc.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, including business leaders, operational support and internal partners.
