This role lies at the intersection of commercial, medical, and patient landscapes, helping shape how data and AI are applied to improve decision‑making, engagement, and outcomes across all three. Purpose The Associate Director, Commercial AI & Advanced Analytics will lead AI‑driven, transformational initiatives supporting Cardiovascular and Metabolics business development. The role focuses on the strategic application of AI and advanced analytics across commercial, medical, and patient domains, including but not limited to sales, marketing, medical engagement, and patient activation and support. This role will influence decision‑making at senior levels, proactively identify new opportunities, and work collaboratively across the organization and with external partners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in healthcare, analytics, data science, marketing, medical strategy, management consulting, or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • Experience managing budgets exceeding $2M annually.
  • Hands‑on experience integrating and analyzing healthcare data sources such as claims, electronic health records, lab results, specialty pharmacy, SDOH/consumer, and patient hub data.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering AI‑driven initiatives within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Strong expertise in predictive analytics and machine learning techniques and their real‑world application.
  • Proven ability to influence across functions and levels, including internal teams and external alliance partners.
  • Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and comfort operating in a fast‑changing, ambiguous environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as product owner and single point of contact for advanced analytics and AI/ML solutions supporting Cardiovascular and Metabolics business development.
  • Leading day‑to‑day partnerships with stakeholders across our alliance partners, commercial, medical, patient support, data strategy, media, and IT teams to shape and evolve the customer and patient engagement roadmap.
  • Managing alliance relationships with an external partner pharmaceutical company, ensuring strong coordination, clear accountability, and value realization across joint initiatives.
  • Leading identification and quantification of the most critical areas of opportunity across the HCP, medical, and patient journeys, determining where, when, and how AI‑driven interventions can add value.
  • Driving a use‑case‑centric evaluation of data sources and methodologies to continuously improve predictive and prescriptive capabilities.
  • Establishing measurement frameworks and assessing impact using leading and lagging indicators, including experimentation and A/B testing.
  • Acting as a change leader and advocate, fostering new ways of thinking about the role of AI and advanced analytics across commercial, medical, and patient engagement.
  • Partnering closely with HCC, privacy, and legal teams to ensure compliance and patient confidentiality are embedded in all solutions.
