About The Position

As Associate Director & Counsel, Global Trade Investigations, the selected candidate will be responsible for leading investigations of potential violations of global trade regulatory and/or internal policy requirements, drafting disclosures and/or reports regarding verified violations (as applicable), and coordinating with business stakeholders to assess root cause and develop corrective actions. This role primarily handles matters involving Pratt & Whitney Canada, but is part of the U.S.-based Global Compliance team in P&W’s Legal, Contracts and Compliance organization and reports to the Director & Senior Counsel, Global Trade Investigations. The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, with flexible hours and is exclusively remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Laws Degree and 5+ years of relevant global trade experience.
  • Member in good standing with the Barreau du Québec.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with U.S. and Canadian export control and sanctions regulations.
  • Prior experience conducting witness interviews and drafting disclosures for submission to regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal daily supervision and to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.

  • Background within an aerospace manufacturing environment beneficial, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct investigations of potential violations of global trade laws and/or policies.
  • Analyze allegations and investigation findings to determine regulatory and other external reporting requirements and drafting disclosures and reports for submission to government agencies and/or internal stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with members of the Global Compliance team and stakeholders across the company to provide investigation status updates and report on trends, compliance risks, and corrective actions.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of P&W and RTX policies, standard work, and processes for investigations and disclosures.
  • Continually enhance and improve P&W’s “Speak Up” culture and maintain a heightened awareness of the RTX Code of Ethics, acting with integrity at all times.
