Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related business administration.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in corporate accounting.
  • In-depth experience in payroll, billing and financial reporting.
  • Prior people-management experience.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook and advanced skill in Excel.
  • Strong experience in ADP payroll and accounting system conversions from QuickBooks.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with time tracking payroll implementation.
  • Experience working within a clinical research organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and manage all aspects of multi-state payroll and work performed by Sr. Accounting Manager.
  • Interpret company pay policies and reconcile schedules, e.g. vacation, sick, personal day, insurance, etc.
  • Maintain payroll reporting, time report tracking, payroll related journal entries, e.g. bi-weekly payroll, vacation accruals, R&D labor allocation, etc.
  • Review and reconcile quarterly and annual payroll tax filings.
  • Prepare bi-weekly 401(k) employee deferral transmittals and annual safe harbor match.
  • Prepare documentation for annual workers compensation audits.
  • Prepare documentation for annual 401(k) 5500 non-discrimination testing.
  • Coordinate with team members to complete implementation of automated time tracking system.
  • Maintain processes and controls to ensure billing and revenue recognition is accurate in accordance with customer contracts and GAAP.
  • Maintain complex internal workbooks and reconcile to general ledger and client billings.
  • Coordinate with clinical development to accurately prepare investigator payments and accruals.
  • Prepare custom ad hoc client reporting.
  • Provide support for revenue forecasting models.
  • Maintain accounting internal control policies and processes.
  • Establish timelines and manage month end close, reviewing general ledger for accuracy.
  • Manage fixed asset reporting and record keeping including asset additions, disposals and property tax reporting.
  • Maintain audit ready financial records and reconciliation schedules.
  • Support financial reporting ensuring GAAP compliance.
  • Support executive team, contracts and business development, as needed.
