This position will support the university’s new School of Computing, which includes 3 strong departments and more than 6,500 students across all programs. This places UT among the most significant intellectual hubs for computer science, information, and statistics and data science research and education anywhere in the world. The School of Computing has a close relationship with Austin’s thriving tech culture and works at the forefront of fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, quantum computing, and cybersecurity. The Associate Director, Academic Advising & Programs provides strategic leadership for undergraduate academic advising operations, orientation and transition programs, enrollment management, academic policy administration, and academic program support within the School of Computing. This position oversees advising operations for Computer Science and Statistics & Data Science undergraduate programs, supervises advising staff, provides oversight for advising services supporting honors and specialized student populations, and collaborates with faculty and university partners to support student progression, academic excellence, and timely degree completion. The Associate Director serves as a key member of the School’s undergraduate academic affairs leadership team and plays a critical role in developing innovative approaches to advising, onboarding, academic program administration, and operational effectiveness to support a growing and diverse student population.
