About The Position

The Associate Designer, Color supports The North Face design team throughout the seasonal color design process, from trend and market research through concept development and color application. Working with designers and the Design Manager, the associate builds foundational design skills, learns the brand aesthetic, and collaborates across teams to bring seasonal color stories to life. The position contributes to color design for apparel, footwear, equipment, and accessories.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in color, trend, or product design within apparel, footwear, equipment, or accessories.
• Experience researching color and consumer trends across performance and/or lifestyle products.
• Foundational understanding of color theory, concept ideation, and visual storytelling.
• Experience applying color palettes to CADs and/or croquis.
• Understanding of the design process and ability to work toward key milestones and deadlines.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate across teams.
• Flexibility, a growth mindset, and a passion for Snow, Climb, Trail, and lifestyle product.

Responsibilities

• Support seasonal trend and market research, concept ideation, and color design application.
• Create color palettes, mood boards, color decks, and other design tools with direction from designers and the Design Manager.
• Apply color concepts to product CADs and croquis across apparel, footwear, equipment, and accessories.
• Build understanding of the design process, systems, brand DNA, and key seasonal milestones.
• Contribute to team reviews, workshops, and events with curiosity, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners and adapt as priorities and needs evolve.
