About The Position
Tremont Road Dental Super, PC dba Spencer Dental & Braces is seeking an Associate Dentist for multiple positions at their location in Portsmouth, VA. This role involves a wide range of dental procedures and patient care, with potential for local travel to other worksites within the same Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry or Doctor of Dental Surgery
- Valid dentist license in the state of Virginia
- Experience with diagnosing decay by reading radiographs
- Experience using dental instruments to perform dentistry on patients
- Experience performing pulpotomies, stainless steel crowns, & extractions
- Experience with restorations, root canals, removable/fixed dental appliances
- Experience using behavior management techniques to perform dentistry on adolescent patients
Responsibilities
- Performing exams and evaluating X-rays to determine a patient’s health
- Developing treatment plans to deal with any dental health issues
- Preparing patients for treatment (e.g. by applying oral sedation or anesthesia)
- Performing dental cleanings and removing tooth plaque
- Identifying tooth decay filling cavities, performing root canals, and applying crowns
- Administering and/or prescribing medications to decrease pain and improve patient health
- Providing cosmetic services like teeth whitening, bonding and veneers to enhance the appearance of teeth
- Interacting with patients and instructing them on proper oral care
- Measuring and fitting dental appliances
- Examining patients’ medical records and maintaining updated accurate records
