POSITION SUMMARY: The Associate Deep Well Operator works under general supervision, receives general work instructions, and applies limited judgement in resolving problems. The incumbent's work is semi-routine in nature and incumbent makes decisions within a moderate scope. The Associate Deep Well Operator may aide in training or guiding less experienced team members. The incumbent ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and other wastewater treatment equipment are operational at all times. PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintains work area and other areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition. Operates general housekeeping equipment, including but not limited to mower, weed eater and pressure washer. Performs all responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner, ensuring adherence to all safety regulations that govern job performance; ensure ongoing compliance with all applicable federal and state requirements. Operates and monitors tank farm equipment, including valves and monitors injection pressures on the wellhead. Reports equipment malfunctions promptly and assists with equipment repairs. Assists with preventive maintenance documentation and files. Performs landfill waste activates as required. Helps maintain preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance documentation files. Operates heavy equipment such as forklift and excavator. Prepares, maintains and tracks daily records relative to landfill hazmat, leachate and other related systems. Uses Microsoft Excel and other computer-based programs to accurately track and report information. Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary.
