About The Position

Assists the Dean and college President in coordinating all facets of the college’s Student Engagement and Success. Provides leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive Student Support Services program designed to enhance the student experience at the College. Provides leadership and oversight to College Orientation Programs, Advising, Counseling, Career and Transfer Services, Internship, Job Placement Services and Student Life. Provide strong educational, social, and leadership development oriented co-curricular programs and activities to enhance student learning. Maintains a visible presence on campus and is actively engaged in creating and developing Student Life events. Supports the development and maintenance of student-driven clubs and organizations, and advocates on behalf of student leaders and clubs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Higher Education Administration, or related field is required
  • 5 years related administrative experience with supervisory responsibilities required, preferably in a related position in an institution of higher education; including experience in academic advisement as well as developing and implementing student success strategies that address the needs of a diverse student population

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for Advisement, Counseling, Career and Transfer Services, Internship and Job Placement, Student Life, Recreational Sports, Judicial Affairs and New Student Orientation.
  • Build partnerships with Academic Affairs, the Centers of Excellence, Workforce Development, and community-based organizations to develop, organize, and implement strategies to promote student retention and success.
  • Develop in collaboration with the Office of Institutional Research, assessment tools that keep track of student’s progress and engagement in the Student Support Services areas.
  • Promote the ultimate student experience by establishing strategies and benchmarks to increase persistence, retention and academic success; this includes developing quantitative and qualitative metrics to assess student success strategies.
  • Supervise the management of administrative processes including budget preparation and oversight, payroll, personnel, and purchasing.
  • Monitor the operational budgets in the various departments assigned to this position to ensure efficient and effective fiscal management of College funds.
  • Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
