About The Position

Berklee is seeking an expert, data-driven, and collaborative leader to serve as the Associate Dean of Admissions. This role will spearhead domestic undergraduate and graduate recruitment and business strategy for campus-based programs at Berklee College of Music, Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and Berklee NYC. The Associate Dean plays a defining role in shaping Berklee’s incoming classes, balancing macro enrollment strategy with high-level operational execution. They will align annual and long-term Audition & Interview (A&I) programming to meet market demand while maximizing a comprehensive recruitment budget.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in higher education admissions management
  • At least 5 years in a dedicated leadership or supervisory role
  • A background and deep knowledge in the performing arts is required to effectively understand our curriculum and align with academic leadership.
  • Expert proficiency in CRM systems and data-driven decision-making, with a proven track record of using predictive analytics to optimize travel and recruitment spend.
  • Exceptional communication habits, structural project management skills, fiscal accountability, and a highly collaborative, approachable leadership style.
  • Ability to fulfill periodic travel requirements, evening work, and weekend commitments during peak recruitment cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Co-lead the development of institution-wide enrollment initiatives.
  • Work directly with the Dean to successfully matriculate over 850 domestic college undergraduates, 300 graduate recruits, 225 conservatory undergraduates, and 90+ conservatory graduate students annually.
  • Supervise, mentor, and motivate a high-performing domestic recruitment team consisting of four direct reports and five indirect reports across the College and Conservatory.
  • Serve as a senior leader on the Board of Admissions. Plan agendas, lead selection meetings, and partner with academic chairs on complex admissions and scholarship deliberations.
  • Oversee domestic admissions budgets, projecting expenses and auditing staff expenditures.
  • Direct the logistical strategy for in-person, online, and travel-based audition events, acting as the primary liaison to faculty and administrative stakeholders.
  • Oversee the SlideRoom artistic application and portfolio review workflows, continuously updating criteria and lifecycle processes to ensure timely, equitable faculty evaluations.
  • Partner with Enrollment Marketing and Operations to ensure message consistency across all digital portals, while leading comprehensive training programs on admissions technology and customer service best practices.
