About The Position

The College of Nursing at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences seeks a visionary, strategic leader to serve as Associate Dean for Student Services, overseeing student affairs, enrollment management, and student engagement. Reporting to the Dean and serving on the senior leadership team, this executive oversees all Student Services operations, including recruitment events, admissions, enrollment management, pre-admission advising, orientation, student engagement, records, retention initiatives, financial aid collaboration, career readiness, commencement activities, and digital communications for undergraduate and graduate programs. The Associate Dean will develop and implement comprehensive, data-informed strategies to recruit, retain, and support student success, while advancing the College’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities. This role collaborates with Academic Affairs, faculty, program directors, marketing, clinical partners, alumni, advancement, and university leadership to foster a student-centered environment that supports academic excellence, professional development, well-being, and inclusive engagement. The Associate Dean also leads enrollment forecasting, ROI analysis for marketing and recruitment, accreditation-related student outcome reporting, and the strategic use of technology to optimize Student Affairs operations. A key outcome is an enhanced, streamlined student journey across all programs and campuses. Requirements

  • Master's degree in a related field plus ten (10) years of experience in Student and Academic Affairs or a closely related area, with five (5) or more years of supervisory experience.
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Advanced).
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead recruitment, admissions, enrollment management, and retention for undergrad and grad programs.
  • Oversee outreach through enrollment and graduation; develop data-driven enrollment plans.
  • Partner on marketing and recruitment; manage Student Services website and digital resources.
  • Track trends; support planning, grants, and reporting; project future FTEs.
  • Assess ROI of marketing initiatives; adjust strategies as needed.
  • Represent the College at events and professional meetings.
  • Oversee all Student Services operations: pre-admission advising, onboarding, orientation, records, financial aid, career services, wellness, engagement, and graduation activities.
  • Foster a student-centered culture promoting success, belonging, leadership, professionalism, and well-being.
  • Develop retention initiatives; remove barriers to success.
  • Use technology and data to optimize operations and the student experience.
  • Develop policies for efficient operations.
  • Ensure compliance with FERPA, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support accreditation and reporting on student outcomes, retention, licensure, and graduation.
  • Collaborate with Academic Affairs, alumni, healthcare partners, advancement, and university leadership.
  • Build partnerships for experiential learning, scholarships, and career readiness.
  • Lead alumni engagement to connect students and graduates.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and enrollment goals.
  • Steward resources; inform decisions through data and forecasting.
  • Teach courses as needed to support the mission.
  • Participate in college, university, and health system committees and leadership activities.
  • Represent the College in meetings, professional organizations, and community events.
  • Support special projects and initiatives; perform other duties as assigned.
  • May perform other duties as assigned to advance the mission of the College.
