About The Position

The College of Business at Florida Atlantic University (FAU) is seeking an Associate Dean for Academic Programs for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track position. This role reports to the Dean and provides leadership for academic programs, AACSB accreditation, and continuous improvement systems. The primary responsibility is the strategic management of accreditation processes, including oversight of assurance of learning, faculty qualifications, intellectual contributions, and accreditation reporting. The Associate Dean will coordinate data systems for continuous improvement, lead faculty credentialing and instructional resource alignment to meet AACSB standards, and oversee academic advising and student services. This position will also manage student academic issues and collaborate with faculty and academic leadership on program development, assessment, and initiatives to enhance student success and academic quality. The role includes limited teaching responsibilities, service to the College and University, and maintenance of scholarly activity to achieve AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) status.

Requirements

  • Earned a doctorate from an AACSB-accredited business school.
  • An established research portfolio to have and maintain AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) status.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of academic administrative experience, preferably at the Assistant or Associate Dean level.
  • Significant experience with AACSB accreditation (including assurance of learning, strategic deployment of faculty, and faculty credentialing).
  • Experience overseeing academic advising and related student academic support services and personnel in those areas.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for academic programs, AACSB accreditation, and continuous improvement systems.

  • Conduct limited teaching responsibilities in one of the College’s academic departments.
  • Provide service to the College and University.
  • Maintain scholarly activity consistent with AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) status.
