The Sidney Kimmel Medical College (SKMC) at Thomas Jefferson University is seeking an accomplished physician-educator to serve as the Associate Dean for the SKMC Delaware Regional Medical Campus (RMC). Based on the University of Delaware campus in Newark, Delaware, the Associate Dean serves as the principal academic officer for SKMC’s educational programs at the regional campus. The Associate Dean is responsible for ensuring an exceptional educational experience for all learners while maintaining full compliance with accreditation standards and advancing the strategic growth and success of the Delaware Regional Medical Campus. This position will oversee all 3 phases of the undergraduate medical education program at the RMC in coordination with other SKMC dean’s staff, departments and local clinical partners. This person is responsible for the successful launch, growth and long-term sustainability of the RMC. They will ensure equivalency of educational quality, student experience and outcomes across all 4 years of medical education at the RMC. The Associate Dean will ensure sufficient availability of scientific and clinical faculty to meet campus educational needs via ongoing recruitment efforts and ensure faculty associated with the RMC are onboarded and oriented to their teaching roles and responsibilities. Additionally, the Associate Dean will be responsible for oversight of the administrative staff, as well as student and faculty experience and support associated with the RMC. The Associate Dean will collaborate closely with many administrative units within SKMC, including Office of Admissions, Office of Student Affairs and Career Counseling, Office of Assessment, Office of Faculty Affairs, Office of Financial Aid, Office of Diversity and Community Engagement, Office of Graduate Medical Education and Student Counseling Center to ensure the overall efficacy and coordination of the SKMC mission at the RMC. Given the campus’s location on the University of Delaware (UD) campus, the Associate Dean will serve as SKMC’s primary relationship steward with UD academic and administrative leadership, coordinating on shared space and day-to-day operational matters consistent with the terms of the UD-SKMC affiliation agreement. The RMC is established through a partnership with the State of Delaware, and the Associate Dean will engage with state agency stakeholders and contribute to program accountability and reporting activities consistent with that relationship.
