About The Position

The Associate Data Integration & Governance Developer is an early-career technical role focused on strengthening the organization’s data foundation. The primary responsibilities include ingesting and managing data from health plans and providers, enhancing enterprise data warehouse (EDW) structures, and implementing data governance and quality controls. Working closely with both on-site and offshore development teams, this role ensures healthcare data is loaded consistently and refreshed on a defined cadence to support comprehensive stakeholder visibility. This position is ideal for a recent college graduate with a strong academic background or internship experience in data engineering who is eager to build expertise in data integration, data quality, and healthcare analytics.

Requirements

  • Zero to two years (0-2) years of relevant project, internship, or healthcare data experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and queries.
  • Familiarity with one or more ETL/ELT tools or scripting languages (e.g., Python) for data pipeline development.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, relational databases, and version control.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities both written and oral, including the capacity to coordinate work between offshore and on-site teams.
  • Proactive mindset and eagerness to grow in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent active listening and critical thinking and analytical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to cloud data platforms or big data tools is preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare data (e.g., member enrollment, claims, clinical data, provider information) and awareness of data privacy regulations (HIPAA/PHI) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and automate ETL/ELT pipelines to import large volumes of data from health plans (payer data files) and healthcare providers.
  • Ensure that all critical datasets are successfully loaded into our data repository and that each data source is refreshed on a reliable schedule.
  • Support the evolution of our data warehouse from a basic replica of core system tables to a well-architected, integrated EDW.
  • Assist in data modeling and integration tasks that transform raw data into governed, analytics-ready data marts.
  • Help implement processes to unify disparate data sources and create a single source of truth for population health analytics.
  • Collaborate on implementing data governance best practices.
  • Run data quality checks and reconciliation processes on incoming datasets to catch and correct errors early.
  • Maintain detailed data documentation and metadata (data dictionaries, source mappings, lineage) to improve transparency and ensure compliance with PHI/HIPAA guidelines.
  • Coordinate day-to-day tasks with offshore developers and on-site teams, acting as a bridge between global development resources and local stakeholders.
  • Participate in requirement gathering sessions and translate business requirements into technical tasks for the offshore team.
  • Facilitate clear communication across time zones, manage task handoffs and QA, and align development efforts to deliver high-quality data solutions on schedule.
  • Work closely with internal cross-functional partners to ensure data solutions meet business needs and to support analytics initiatives.
  • Partner with the AI & Automation Developer to prepare data for advanced analytics and population health tools.
  • Ensure the data pipelines and warehouse structures can support machine learning, reporting, and BI dashboards by providing clean, accessible, and well-governed data for downstream use.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data engineering workflows.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline data ingestion, improve performance and scalability of data infrastructure, and adopt industry best practices.
