About The Position

Associate Cybersecurity Analyst (entry-level) Havertys seeks an Associate Cybersecurity Analyst to join the IT Department. The Associate Cybersecurity Analyst is an entry-level, hands-on member of the Information Security team, supporting the protection of enterprise systems, data, and users. This role focuses on learning and assisting with security operations, incident response, compliance activities, and the maintenance of security controls under the guidance of senior team members. Duties and responsibilities include monitoring and enhancing company's information security operations, governance and cybersecurity program pertaining to information confidentiality, integrity, and compliance requirements. As an Associate Cybersecurity Analyst (entry level). this is your opportunity to: Monitor, triage, and respond to security alerts and incidents across the enterprise. Assist with the incident response lifecycle, including investigation, containment, remediation, and post-incident documentation. Support the operation and maintenance of security tools such as firewalls, WAF, SIEM, IDPS, and endpoint protection platforms. Assist with compliance activities related to PCI DSS and SOX IT General Controls, including evidence collection and documentation. Perform vulnerability scanning and help track remediation efforts through established change management processes. Monitor database and system access to ensure data security and integrity. Work with third-party vendors, auditors, and internal teams under direction from senior staff. Develop and maintain security documentation, procedures, and knowledge base articles. Deliver end-user security awareness training and briefings on emerging threats. Participate in business continuity and disaster recovery planning and testing. Participate in an on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • Basic familiarity with security concepts such as phishing, malware, access control, and incident response.
  • Ability to analyze issues, follow documented procedures, and escalate appropriately.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong willingness to learn, ask questions, and develop technical and professional skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with regulatory or compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS or SOX through coursework or early professional experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Foundational understanding of networking concepts, operating systems, and enterprise IT environments.
  • Familiarity with SIEM tuning, alert correlation, and endpoint detection tools.
  • Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CRISC, or CEH.
  • Experience working in an Agile or DevOps-oriented environment.
