About The Position

The Advanced Concepts & IT Operations (ACIT) team is hiring a junior Software Developer to support the development and integration of high-performance and scalable AI systems for both the Lockheed Martin Computer Incident Response Team (LM-CIRT) and Lockheed Martin Red Team. Join the Intelligence, Readiness, and Response (IR2) organization within Corporate Information Security, where sister teams LM-CIRT and Red Team combine cutting-edge threat intelligence, offensive security operations, and Intelligence Driven Defense principles to set the global standard in enterprise cybersecurity while protecting state-of-the-art military technology and the critical systems that support our nation's defense. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong background in software development, understanding of software engineering principles, experience building AI-powered workflows, and familiarity with computer network defense (CND) and penetration testing operations. You should be prepared to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python; additional experience with Rust, C/C++, Java, JavaScript, Go, or other programming language is strongly desired.
  • Experience with building AI Agents using agentic frameworks such as langchain/langgraph/deepagents, strands, crewai, or claude agent sdk
  • Familiarity with working in a Linux CLI environment (e.g. Bash, Grep, Sed, Awk, Jq)
  • Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance
  • US Citizenship is required to start, with eligibility for Secret clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Computer Network Defense (CND) / Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) procedures and methodology
  • Knowledge of Red Team / Penetration Testing procedures and methodology
  • Knowledge of basic offensive/malware development and best practices
  • Experience with DevSecOps/MLOps practices, including Git and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins, GitLab runners, GitHub actions)
  • Experience working with Machine Learning systems for classification, clustering, or predictions (e.g. sklearn, pytorch, tensorflow)
  • Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms
  • Experience designing and deploying applications for Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Experience working with container services (Docker/Podman/Kubernetes)
  • Experience with Agile development practices
  • Active Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Designing, developing, and integrating AI capabilities, software applications, and systems in support of LM-CIRT's and Red Team's mission
  • Collaborating with analysts, testers, and architects to identify and prioritize requirements for system development and integration
  • Participating in initiatives to enhance the security and resilience of Lockheed Martin's corporate network
  • Consistently communicating with the team and stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and delivery of solutions
