About The Position

Amegy Bank is hiring for its January and June 2027 Banker Development Program (BDP) classes. The BDP is a rotational credit and sales training program that builds foundational banking knowledge and develops Credit Analysts into well-rounded bankers with credit, prospecting, and relationship management skills. The defined career path begins with classroom training, continues through rotations in lending departments, and leads to placement as an Associate in a lending group, a step toward becoming a Relationship Manager. Phase 1 begins with 4.5 months of classroom training at Amegy Bank’s Houston headquarters, including five weeks of training at Zions Technology Center in Midvale, Utah. Training covers banking and analytical concepts, bank systems and operations, credit underwriting, analytical decision-making, case studies, professional etiquette, sales, senior-management introductions, and soft skills. This is followed by 1.5 months of Retail and Treasury Management exposure in the Credit Analyst’s permanent market. Phase 2 is 13–19 months of on-the-job rotations through five to seven lending groups in the analyst’s permanent market, with each rotation lasting approximately 2.5 months. Phase 3 is placement into a lending group as an Associate, typically 19–25 months after starting the program, depending on rotations, performance, and staffing needs. Career progression is estimated to continue from Associate to Assistant Vice President/Relationship Manager II after three to four years, and to Vice President after five or more years. The role is listed for Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth/Arlington, and San Antonio. The job description states that the program is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship.
