About The Position

We’re looking for a senior-level copywriter with an advertising creative background as an integral addition to Verkada’s creative team. A hands-on maker who’s as passionate about ‘the big idea’ as landing an unapologetically hard-working line. A strategically-minded thinker, and a natural born problem solver. You’ve got an entrepreneurial curiosity and you’re ready to help build something big. As a member of the larger marketing team, you’ll be instrumental in supporting multi-platform advertising campaigns —working cross-functionally between Creative, Product Marketing, Content, and Growth stakeholders to help create compelling, effective, high-quality content across all channels. You'll be part of a fast-paced, fast-growing team with the opportunity to work on a range of projects big and small—directly impacting growth on a multibillion-dollar global tech brand. You’ll always be producing—without all the bureaucratic layers, dozens of decks, and endless reviews. This is a unique opportunity that’s as big as you want it to be. This role will report into our Creative Director. We are committed to a thriving in-office culture. This role requires that you be on-site at our office in San Mateo, CA 5 days a week.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in an advertising creative setting.
  • You’ve got a strong portfolio of multidisciplinary campaign-based advertising—from social to broadcast.
  • You’re an ad machine—a prolific, big-thinking, hands-on creator.
  • You’re a writer’s writer. Conceptual, clever, compelling and precise.
  • Experience on B2B and tech brands (can crack a brief for complex marketing ecosystems).
  • You’re a student of ‘great’ advertising, but you also appreciate an ad that works really hard.
  • Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, on multiple projects with rapidly shifting priorities.
  • Must be willing and able to commute 5 days in office.

Responsibilities

  • You’ll be focussed on all things advertising, producing the content that drives our growth.
  • As a copywriter by trade, you’ll be a key contributor involved in every step of the creative process, from conceptual ideation to scrappy social and performance marketing to OLV, broadcast and brand advertising.
  • Helping us define our rich product ecosystem of possibilities into a memorable, human brand.
  • Helping to identify creative opportunities—a prolific idea generator with an appetite for PR.
  • You’ll help guide creative vision and provide oversight to a team of makers.
  • Creating platform-relevant, tailor-made executions through static, animated, and video formats.
