•$185,000 - $215,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Genius AI is building technology that helps local businesses run themselves by handling administrative work such as booking, marketing, client management, finances, staff management, and inventory. The company says its technology has saved businesses 106 million administrative hours, earned them $2.0 billion in additional revenue, and facilitated more than 624 million client touch points. As Associate Creative Director, Art Director, you will own ideas for major campaigns, from developing concepts and art directing video and photography to defining the verbal approach, while remaining hands-on in bringing the work to life. You will work with creative partners on brand marketing across holistic brand campaigns, paid social concepts, and customer stories. The role calls for challenging existing creative practices, using AI to accelerate work, and bringing both writing instincts and an art director’s eye to briefs. The role is hybrid and requires commuting to the New York City headquarters or San Francisco office. The company generally expects employees to work in the office three to four days per week, with required attendance on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in art direction and concept development at an in-house brand team, creative agency, or brand studio, with a portfolio led by campaigns and video.
  • Fluency using AI to concept, storyboard, prototype, and produce, including experience building repeatable workflows.
  • Ability to set direction and ship strong concepts quickly, iterating rather than spending weeks aligning before work begins.
  • Demonstrated copywriting craft, including taglines, scripts, and narratives that work without visual support.
  • Experience leading the creative vision for video and photography shoots from concept and treatment through final edit, with a clear point of view on story and approach.
  • Experience conceptualizing paid social work designed to perform and understanding how creative earns attention in a feed.

  • Art direct customer story videos and photo shoots from treatment through final cut, including casting, shot lists, and edit feedback.
  • Build AI-powered creative workflows that accelerate concepting, storyboarding, and production, and establish standards for team use.
  • Show work early, respond to feedback, and iterate quickly while maintaining a high standard of craft.
