About The Position

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 2–3 years of post-bar legal experience in employment law, government contracts, or a combination of both—gained through in-house, or government practice
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and/or federal employment laws (Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FMLA, FLSA)
  • Strong experience interpreting laws, rules, and regulations at local, state, and federal levels
  • Strong legal research and writing skills with the ability to distill complex issues into clear, actionable guidance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in ambiguous or rapidly evolving environments
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with internal stakeholders, as well as external customers and business partners with whom Nava negotiates
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Ability to meet any other requirements for government contracts for which candidates are hired
  • Work authorization that doesn’t require visa sponsorship, now or in the future
  • May be subject to a government background check or security clearance, depending on the contract
  • This role requires you to work from the contiguous United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with GSA Schedule contracts, HHS/CMS procurements, VA contracting, or SBA small business programs
  • Familiarity with OFCCP compliance and multi-state employment law
  • Prior in-house experience, particularly within a technology or government services company
  • Comfort with legal technology tools and modern contract lifecycle management platforms
  • Proficiency in GSuite, Slack, Zoom, Excel, Apple computers, and other tools used to support a remote-work environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the review, negotiation, and administration of federal government contracts, subcontracts, teaming agreements, and task orders governed by the FAR, agency-specific supplements (including GSA, VA, HHS/CMS), and applicable SBA regulations
  • Support compliance monitoring efforts and internal audits to ensure adherence to contract terms, applicable regulations, and agency-specific requirements
  • Conduct legal research on procurement regulations, government contracting issues, and evolving agency guidance; prepare concise memoranda and recommendations for senior counsel
  • Assist with reviews, terms and conditions analysis, and pre-award due diligence
  • Provide day-to-day employment law support, including review of employment agreements, offer letters, separation agreements, and HR policies
  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of employee relations matters, including EEOC charges, and internal complaint processes
  • Support compliance with federal and state employment laws, leave requirements, and other employment regulations applicable to a multi-state workforce
  • Partner with HR and People Operations teams to deliver practical, business-informed legal guidance
  • Draft and update the playbooks and internal policies to comply with evolving laws, including state-specific labor laws
  • Assist in developing and delivering training for managers on topics such as anti-harassment, wage and hour compliance, and the protection of trade secrets
  • Assist with intellectual property matters, including review of software licensing, data-use agreements, and IP provisions in government contracts
  • Support corporate governance and other general legal matters as assigned
  • Maintain organized contract and matter management records; assist in developing and updating legal policies, templates, and playbooks
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on a wide range of legal issues, including but not limited to: contract law, corporate law, employment law, litigation support and regulatory compliance
  • Remain current on legal developments and specific regulations that may impact the company to ensure ongoing compliance while reducing legal risk
