About The Position

Adyen is seeking a driven and enthusiastic Associate Corporate Counsel to join its global Corporate Legal team, based in New York City. The Corporate Legal team is divided into Advisory, Governance, and Disputes pillars, and this role will support all of them. The Associate Corporate Counsel will assist with a broad range of topics including disputes, procurement, corporate governance, law enforcement responses, and general corporate matters. The role offers a dynamic environment where no two days are the same, supporting the global team with staff in the Netherlands and the United States, and applying legal knowledge to global challenges. An ideal candidate will have a passion for Adyen's business and a desire to contribute to its growth mission.

Requirements

  • A law degree.
  • At least 1.5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong generalist legal experience in commercial or corporate law.
  • Ability to structure and prioritize in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build, innovate, and drive processes to completion.
  • Availability to work from the New York City office.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

  • Handle disputes autonomously, advising Adyen on commercial outcomes and finding pragmatic solutions.
  • Assist the US Governance team in facilitating local board meetings in the US and Canada, and drafting/guiding board meetings throughout LATAM, also facilitating the global governance team.
  • Assist the Advisory team on large Corporate projects, such as corporate development, capital markets, and disclosures.
  • Provide legal advice across various corporate functions, assisting teams such as regulatory, procurement, and partnerships.
  • Contract with third-party vendors, including review and negotiation of service agreements and license agreements, potentially leading re-contracting efforts for major projects like DORA and EBA.
  • Contribute to global business and legal projects covering regulatory implementation, cross-functional initiatives, product, and procurement.
  • Track new legislative proposals and other legal and compliance developments relevant to Adyen globally.
  • Provide input to the Corporate Legal team's use of AI and other efforts to achieve scalability and automation.

Benefits

  • Annual base salary range of $135,000-$175,000.
