The Crown Is Yours As an Associate Corporate Counsel, General Litigation, you’ll help our team navigate legal matters and manage litigation risk across the business. You’ll work with internal partners, outside counsel, and members of the Legal Team to assess disputes, respond to legal threats, and support active litigation. Your work will give you exposure to a broad range of legal issues while helping the business make informed decisions and address potential risk.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of relevant litigation experience, preferably at a law firm; in-house experience is a plus.
  • A Juris Doctor Degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar or eligibility for admission as in-house counsel in Massachusetts.
  • A practical approach to analyzing legal issues, assessing risk, and developing thoughtful solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while collaborating effectively with teammates and outside counsel.
  • The ability to build collaborative relationships with internal partners and communicate clear, actionable legal guidance.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Assess lawsuits, demand letters, customer complaints, and other actual or potential legal threats by gathering facts, analyzing issues, and supporting response strategies.
  • Draft and review court filings in partnership with outside counsel and support litigation matters from initial assessment through resolution.
  • Work with opposing counsel to help resolve disputes and legal threats when appropriate.
  • Partner with teams across the organization to identify potential litigation risks and help develop strategies to address exposure.
  • Represent the company in small claims court as needed.
  • Support investigations and responses to inquiries from regulators and Attorneys General offices related to customer complaints.
  • Provide practical and timely legal guidance on business issues, helping internal partners understand potential legal considerations and risk.
