About The Position

The Squires Group is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented professional to provide Associate Controller support for our client. In this role you will provide back-fill analytical support to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly financial close and reconciliation processes. This role supports financial reporting activities and helps maintain compliance with applicable accounting standards within a higher education environment. This role is based in the Kingston, Rhode Island area. Candidates will be expected to be onsite in Kingston, RI. Per our client contract, candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Green Card Holders.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of experience in financial reporting within a higher education environment.
• Strong knowledge of GASB accounting standards.
• Experience with PeopleSoft required.

Nice To Haves

• CPA, MBA, or Master’s degree in Accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Back-fill analytical support ensureing accurate and timely monthly close reconciliation.
• Support and execute monthly financial close processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
• Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies as needed.
• Assist with financial reporting in accordance with applicable accounting standards, including GASB.
• Provide analytical support to ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting processes.
