About The Position

Ramboll is seeking highly motivated and inquisitive entry-level candidates to join our Environmental and Health consulting practice and the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Team with the option of joining either of our offices located in New York City or Princeton, New Jersey offices. Our New York City office places you in the center of a global business hub, steps from clients, culture, dining, and transit. Prefer a campus-style setting with easy access to NYC and Philadelphia? Our Princeton, NJ office offers a collaborative environment in a vibrant university town with convenient commuter options. As our new Associate Consultant, you will join our stellar team and work closely with Project Managers and other Consultants to support a variety of due diligence projects throughout the United States, particularly in the New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York areas.

Requirements

  • Minimum B.S. degree in a relevant engineering discipline (civil, environmental, chemical) or B.S./B.A. in a relevant science discipline (environmental science, geology, chemistry, physics, or biology).
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% per month. Travel is typically short duration (1-2 days) and may be local or throughout the US, depending on project needs.
  • Driver’s license and air travel required.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degrees are desirable but not required.
  • Familiarity with federal and state multi-media environmental regulations helpful but not required. Ramboll will provide training in applicable environmental regulations as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting environmental assessments of a broad range of industrial and commercial facilities to support high-profile merger and acquisition (M&A) business transactions. Assessments include visits to industrial facilities, interviews with facility personnel, review of historical resources to understand site development and operational history, review of current and past site operations, and assessment of a facility’s compliance with environmental regulatory requirements (e.g., air permitting, wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste).
  • Conducting desktop reviews of industrial facilities or businesses, to support fast-track transactions.
  • Assisting with evaluating the business risks associated with known and potential environmental liabilities and with developing scopes of work for follow-on site investigations.
  • Preparing technical reports that effectively communicate review findings.
  • Assisting clients meet environmental regulatory and permitting obligations.
