About The Position

Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Computer Systems Architect/Computer Systems Architect (Level 1/2) to join the GSDP Special Test Equipment Engineering (STEE) team. This role will be part of Northrop Grumman's Space programs, providing specialized IT support to Restricted, DOD, and Unclassified systems and environments. The position requires knowledge and adherence to Information Assurance processes and procedures per NG InfoSec and program security organizations. The applicant will support diverse and dynamic environments, including multiple engineering areas that incorporate COTS hardware and operating systems with custom applications into their test systems and operational products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and 0+ years of relevant experience (for Level 1)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and 2+ years of relevant experience, OR a Master's degree in a STEM field and 0+ years of relevant experience (for Level 2)
  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance or SCI access in a timely manner
  • Candidate must have, and be able to maintain, at least ONE of the following active U.S. Government security clearances: Dept of Defense Top Secret level with a background investigation date within 6 years OR SCI access with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years OR Dept of Energy Q clearance with a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) completed within 5 years
  • Meets DOD IAT requirements for security certs or be in the process of obtaining one. (i.e. CISSP, Security+ certification)

Nice To Haves

  • Basic understanding of computer networking (OS configuration, Network switches, Firewalls, CISCO IOS)
  • Familiarity with CMMC/DFARS/RMF/DOD Security Controls
  • Highly skilled at using Compliance and Remediation tools (i.e. Nessus, SCC SCAP scanner, STIG Viewer)
  • Ability to learn scripting languages and automation, such as Bash, Ansible, and/or PowerShell

Responsibilities

  • Administration of Linux (RHEL 8/9, Rocky 8/9, Ubuntu 20+) servers and workstations
  • Installing, configuring, troubleshooting hardened Linux operating systems
  • On call, 24/7 pager support during critical phases of testing, contingency operations and off-site as required
  • Administration of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8/9 servers and workstations
  • Administration of Windows workstations and servers (Windows 11 and Windows 2022)
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux server applications (i.e. Samba, NFS, Chrony, Web servers)
  • Installing, configuring, and supporting Windows applications (i.e. Xilinx, Windriver, LabView, Office)
  • Building, deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting IT systems hardware (i.e. Workstations, Servers, Storage appliances, network switches, rack & stack)
  • Manage and prioritize workflow using department ticketing system
