This role develops and/or administers company employee benefits, wellness and compensation programs. It is responsible for direct or functional control over job evaluation and wage and salary administration programs, including all incentive plans. The role is also responsible for keeping abreast of trends and developments in the area of employee benefits and recommending nature and timing of benefit plan improvements. Additionally, this role may prepare and deliver employee communication and training programs.

Requirements

  • Requires broad theoretical job knowledge typically obtained through advanced education.
  • Requires a Baccalaureate degree (or for degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree which satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)( 4)(iii)(A), 0 years of experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and/or administers company employee benefits, wellness and compensation programs.
  • Responsible for direct or functional control over job evaluation and wage and salary administration programs, including all incentive plans.
  • Responsible for keeping abreast of trends and developments in the area of employee benefits and recommending nature and timing of benefit plan improvements.
  • May prepare and deliver employee communication and training programs.
  • Develops and/or administers company employee compensation programs.
  • Prepare and support salary recommendations for new hires, promotions when needed.
  • Support development, communication and administration of sales incentive plans that support the business strategies.
  • Champion the global recognition program, Recognize!, in Canada and manage local recognition programs.
  • Conducts surveys and studies labour markets to determine compensation trends; analyzes jobs, and reviews job descriptions and specifications; applies job evaluation techniques to establish equitable compensation rates within the organization as compared with rates in industry and related to government regulations.
  • Support and make recommendations to management and HR related to compensation based on company philosophy, budget and market and interprets laws regulating compensation and benefits practices.
  • Support Pay Equity requirements in Canada.
  • Support and update salary ranges process every year keeping external equity and competitiveness.
  • Provides creative input in development of effective communication strategies and tools that convey the understanding and core value of the Total Rewards programs.
  • Participates in projects related to the improvement and the advancement of our Total Rewards and recognition programs and processes as a project team member or project leader.
  • Responsible to comply and assure Medtronic is following pay equity regulations by province where applicable.
