About The Position

The Good Faith Network, a constituent-led, grassroots organization and part of the Direct Action and Research Training Center (DART), is seeking an Associate Community Organizer. This role involves bringing together diverse faith communities to address the root causes of serious community problems. DART opposes narratives of fear and division, instead uniting people across differences based on shared values of abundance, love, hope, and promise. The organization is committed to fighting for racial and economic justice and building power in the public arena through interfaith coalitions.

Requirements

  • Passion for justice and a history of acting on it.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with people from all walks of life.
  • Genuine respect for all faith traditions and excitement about uniting faith communities.
  • Comfort working with people with whom there may be deep disagreements.
  • Ability to hold one's own beliefs without being restricted by them.
  • Willingness to invest in overcoming differences and finding common ground.
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a reliable car.
  • Ability to travel for several training events throughout the year.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships of trust with everyday people of faith through one-on-one conversations.
  • Invite people to be part of something bigger than themselves, moving them from solitary struggle to the pursuit of collective power.
  • Engage individuals in claiming their own powerful voice and developing their leadership.
  • Guide individuals through conducting research into community problems.
  • Organize direct action assemblies involving hundreds or even thousands of people to demand action and hold decision makers accountable.
  • Recruit new congregations.
  • Organize local trainings.
  • Coordinate an annual fundraising drive.
