Associate, Communications & Advocacy

Global Health Strategies•New York City, NY

About The Position

Global Health Strategies (GHS) is hiring an Associate to support communications, advocacy, and client/project management work. Associates conduct research and produce content, execute team work effectively, and contribute ideas to complex communications and advocacy challenges. The role supports global health and development initiatives across a fast-moving field, where work may not always fit neatly into a 9-to-5 schedule. In communications, the Associate makes complex concepts accessible through messages, fact sheets, social media posts, and digital materials; supports media outreach; develops opinion pieces, speeches, and talking points; and tracks relevant coverage, announcements, evidence, and conversations. In advocacy, the Associate identifies strategic opportunities and champions, coordinates partners, supports high-level events, builds coalitions, and tracks policy and funding trends. The role also involves tracking activities and deliverables, coordinating calendars and travel, attending meetings and events on behalf of clients with senior management, using AI to improve efficiency, and keeping managers informed about progress and challenges. GHS is a global health and development communications and advocacy consultancy. It uses research, advocacy, and storytelling to promote action on policies, funding, and programs, working with philanthropies, multilateral organizations, pharmaceutical companies, NGOs, and governments. Its work spans infectious diseases, universal health coverage, women's and girls' health, climate and agriculture, and gender equality, among other areas. GHS operates across offices in New York, London, Geneva, Nairobi, Johannesburg, New Delhi, Rio de Janeiro, and beyond.
