Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field required.
  • Current Maryland licensure permitting the practice of both Counseling and Supervision required.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment settings, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Demonstrated readiness to take on increasing operational and administrative responsibility.
  • Demonstrated history of process improvement and leading change
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems and establishing best practices
  • Familiar with Google Workspace

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred licensure: Ph.D, Psy.D, LCPC or LCSW-C with supervisory license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group supervision to counselors, therapists, and clinical interns.
  • Review and approve assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge plans.
  • Monitor clinical documentation for quality, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Support staff in applying evidence-based practices for substance use and co-occurring disorders.
  • Provide crisis consultation and clinical decision support, including after hours as the on-call clinical leader.
  • Maintain a limited caseload as needed, which may include assessments, individual therapy, family sessions, and group facilitation.
  • Train and mentor clinical staff on best practices, ethics, and trauma-informed care.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback, in partnership with the Sr. Director of Clinical Services.
  • Lead onboarding and professional development of new hires and clinical interns.
  • Serve as the acting clinical leader on-site when the Sr. Director of Clinical Services is unavailable, including clinical and staffing decisions.
  • Partner with the Sr. Director of Clinical Services on development and implementation of clinical policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Support staffing coverage, scheduling, and day-to-day operational needs of the clinical department.
  • Assist with departmental budgeting and resource planning in collaboration with the Sr. Director of Clinical Services and finance.
  • Serve as a secondary liaison between patients, families, and care teams to ensure coordinated, compassionate care.
  • Represent the clinical department in leadership meetings as delegated by the Sr. Director of Clinical Services.
  • Partner with the Sr. Director of Clinical Services on strategic initiatives and organizational goals, building toward increased operational and business responsibility over time.
  • Participate in utilization review, case conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Monitor client progress and program outcomes; recommend service improvements.
  • Assist in the development and enhancement of clinical programs and services.
  • Ensure adherence to state, federal, and accreditation standards, including documentation, confidentiality, and safety requirements.
  • Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and incident reviews.
  • Promote ethical practice, professional boundaries, and a recovery-oriented treatment environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of Alpas Wellness.
