About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of Clinical and Family Services or designee, the Associate Clinical Director is responsible for the day-to-day clinical and operational management of Families First's Lucy C. Vance Center for Behavioral Health Services. The Associate Clinical Director oversees the delivery of outpatient behavioral health services, including therapy, psychiatric services, community-based counseling, crisis intervention, and other clinical programs, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care. The Associate Clinical Director provides clinical leadership, supervision, and operational oversight to behavioral health staff while ensuring compliance with licensing, accreditation, payer, and agency standards. This position partners closely with the Director of Clinical and Family Services to implement departmental goals, strengthen program performance, support revenue-generating clinical services, and advance the agency's strategic priorities. The ideal candidate is an experienced clinical leader with knowledge of Core Services, third-party billing, insurance credentialing, clinical compliance, and behavioral health operations. The Associate Clinical Director is committed to ensuring Families First clients receive skilled, compassionate, culturally responsive, and high-quality behavioral health services.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or related behavioral health field.
  • Current Georgia licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of post-graduate behavioral health experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible clinical supervisory or management experience.
  • Experience with Core Services, insurance credentialing, third-party billing, utilization management, and behavioral health reimbursement.
  • Knowledge of behavioral health operations, clinical documentation, compliance, and quality assurance.
  • Knowledge of Georgia behavioral health regulations, licensing requirements, Medicaid standards, and accreditation bodies.
  • Experience supervising multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to analyze clinical and operational data to improve program performance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the daily clinical and operational functions of the Lucy C. Vance Center for Behavioral Health Services.
  • Assists the Director of Clinical and Family Services in implementing the agency's behavioral health strategic priorities and program goals.
  • Oversees implementation and ongoing management of reimbursable Core Services and other clinical service delivery models.
  • Coordinates, monitors, and reports on provider credentialing and recredentialing with Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance providers, and other payer sources.
  • Assists with monitoring clinical productivity, revenue performance, and operational efficiency while identifying opportunities to strengthen reimbursement and service delivery.
  • Ensures behavioral health programs operate in compliance with agency policies, licensing requirements, accreditation standards, payer regulations, and applicable federal and state laws.
  • Recommends improvements to policies, procedures, workflows, and clinical practices to improve quality, efficiency, and client outcomes.
  • Supervises behavioral health program managers, clinical supervisors, and designated staff; provides coaching, performance management, and professional development.
  • Participates in interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and evaluating behavioral health staff in collaboration with the Director of Clinical and Family Services.
  • Provides clinical consultation and guidance to behavioral health staff regarding complex client situations and evidence-based treatment approaches.
  • Monitors quality assurance activities, clinical documentation, utilization management, and client outcomes to ensure high standards of care.
  • Collaborates with the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Department to ensure ongoing compliance with accreditation, licensing, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assists with grant and contract implementation by ensuring compliance with program requirements, service delivery expectations, reporting, and performance measures.
  • Identifies opportunities for program enhancement, community partnerships, and expanded behavioral health services.
  • Collaborates with other Families First departments to coordinate integrated services and improve client outcomes.
  • Supports implementation of evidence-based practices, clinical models, standardized assessments, and outcome measurement tools.
  • Reviews and approves clinical trainings, continuing education opportunities, and selected program expenditures as delegated by the Director of Clinical and Family Services.
  • Provides clinical crisis consultation and support to Families First programs, including after-hours consultation as needed.
  • Represents Families First at community meetings, professional organizations, and collaborative partnerships as assigned.
  • Participates on agency committees, leadership meetings, and workgroups as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
