About The Position

AGRICORP has an opportunity for Associate Claims Adjudicators, supporting the farmers of Ontario when they need it most. Associate Claims Adjudicators help deliver financial and risk management government programs for Ontario’s agriculture sector. They’re a vital part of the Claims Services team, working alongside customer-oriented professionals in AGRICORP’s Program Delivery Division, and are responsible for determining program benefits across a suite of different programs. Associate Claims Adjudicators conduct financial reviews and analysis to determine the eligibility of claims. They also verify customer production information, and process claims and claim payments for programs delivered by Agricorp.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree or College diploma in finance, business, commerce, economics, agriculture or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in claims or risk adjudication, preferably in the financial services or agricultural sectors
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly to diverse groups, including clients, brokers, agents and other professionals
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Nice To Haves

  • additional training in accounting, risk analysis/risk management, or financial analysis, an asset
  • Agricultural knowledge is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Review, verify and approve small claims through the claims process by assessing the application against coverage, reviewing data for completeness, researching and investigating discrepancies, and calculating program benefits in accordance with to Agricorp’s policies and best practices
  • Identify and escalate high-risk issues to senior team members
  • Contribute to the success of the team by monitoring and reporting trends and emerging issues in claims file experiences
  • Provide technical guidance to agents and producers related to Agricorp's suite of programs
  • Maintain professional working relationships with producers and agents
