About The Position

Capital Health Medical Center is seeking a full-time Associate Chief of Cancer physician. The Associate Chief position is crucial for ensuring that our healthcare organizations provides safe, effective, and high-quality care. This role involves supporting the Chief of Cancer in ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and works on clinical initiatives to improve patient care and outcomes. In support of the Chief, works to optimize clinical operations, manages medical staff, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and participates in strategic planning of medical services within the assigned division(s).

Requirements

  • MD/DO Degree
  • NJ & PA licenses
  • Board certification in Oncology

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the leadership of assigned medical staff and collaborate with health system leaders and departments to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient operations.
  • Manages medical staff and supporting the development of medical policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of medical strategies that align with CH goals.
  • Oversees clinical services, ensuring financial viability, and enhancing patient access to care.
  • Leads initiatives to improve clinical quality and patient safety.
  • Monitors compliance with regulatory standards and implementing quality improvement plans.
  • In collaboration with Chiefs, participates in the development of the Capital Health Medical Group financial plan (budget).
  • Approves and develops workflows that maximize the use of the clinical care team and fosters an atmosphere of teamwork and excellence.
  • Works closely with various departments, including nursing, ancillary services, administration, and external stakeholders, to foster communication and collaboration across the organization.
  • Collaborates with Human Resources in the recruitment of physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and other medical providers.
  • Participates in the recruitment, training and orientation of assigned medical staff, ensuring they are up-to-date with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Engages in clinical research initiatives and support the development of new medical programs and services.
  • Supports the mission, vision and philosophy of CHMG as evidenced by compliance with all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Supports all functions that attain and maintain compliance with regulatory or funding agencies.
  • Performs other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Chief.
