The Erebus Program is a newly awarded 7-year effort that delivers cutting-edge intelligence and geospatial data management applications and services to the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). As the premier geospatial intelligence program globally, Erebus supports over 14,000 intelligence analysts and decision-makers at 50 distinct locations worldwide. The Program’s focus is on meeting the current mission needs of our customer, but also pioneering future automation solutions for the NGA based on agency directives. The selected candidate with serve as the Associate Chief Engineer will provide technical leadership across software and systems domains, drive integration and test activities, and mentor engineering teams in support of the Chief Engineer. This role bridges software and systems architecture, software and systems engineering, integration and test, failure management, and risk management to ensure robust, high quality solutions that meet mission objectives. The candidate will work with the other members of the leadership team in Littleton, CO, as well as coordinate with the team located at another NGA facilities in St. Louis and Springfield, VA. The applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Software Engineering with a strong development background.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Systems Engineering and the ability to manage complex system lifecycles.
  • Hands‑on experience with Integration & Test activities, including test plan development and execution.
  • Prior Engineering Leadership Experience.
  • TS clearance needed to start with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with CI Poly.
  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Software Architecture: Design of modular, reusable, and high‑performance software frameworks.
  • Systems Architecture: Ability to define end‑to‑end system architectures integrating hardware, software, and networking components.
  • Risk Management: Proficiency in risk identification, analysis, mitigation planning, and tracking throughout project lifecycles.
  • Failure Resolution: Strong investigative skills to diagnose, root‑cause, and remediate system failures efficiently.
  • Master’s degree in a related discipline.
  • Experience with model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., SysML, Cameo).
  • Knowledge of Agile/DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities
