About The Position

The Associate Chemistry Technician collects and prepares samples from plant systems and performs chemical and radioanalytical analyses. The role also includes calibrating instruments, monitoring station processes, evaluating analytical results against limits, and making appropriate notifications. The position requires completion of a chemistry qualification book and may include emergency planning duties and other assigned station-support work.

Requirements

• High school diploma or educational equivalent.
• Satisfactory completion of college-level training in basic physics, chemistry, and associated mathematics; applicants may be required to demonstrate the required knowledge.
• Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position.
• Must meet NRC psychological testing regulations.
• Must pass a validated aptitude test.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze samples, and calibrate instruments while monitoring station processes.
• Analyze information to detect potential problems, draw conclusions, make recommendations, and perform calculations.
• Evaluate results against limits and make appropriate notifications.
• Provide training and oversight to other personnel.
• Support decontamination, housekeeping, painting, and other duties as assigned by the Company.
• Perform Emergency Planning duties as assigned.
• Complete a chemistry qualification book.
