Labcorp is seeking an Associate Chemist to join our Toxicology team in Burlington, NC! This role involves reviewing and certifying LC/MS data, determining data acceptability, and uploading results. The Associate Chemist will be responsible for the verification of calibration, quality controls, and patient data up to and including result entry. They will also maintain, calibrate, and clean instrumentation, perform scheduled maintenance and critical function checks on analytical equipment such as GC, GC-MS, HPLC, and UPLC-MS/MS, and diagnose and repair issues with this equipment. The position involves gaining knowledge of department operations and procedures under direct supervision in an entry-level capacity. The Associate Chemist will conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses on organic and inorganic samples, participate in the development of new analytical procedures, and perform routine and complex technical procedures according to SOPs. This role requires the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving, evaluate raw and final data for accuracy, and recognize and correct errors. Additionally, the Associate Chemist will provide guidance to technical staff, assist with training new employees, perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control, and identify and replenish testing bench supplies.
