About The Position

Responsible for assessing spiritual needs, provides spiritual care and pastoral counseling to patients/families/employees. The fundamental function of the Chaplain Associate is to make tangible the presence of God as he/she provides pastoral ministry in the health care setting. The Chaplain Associate assists individuals with spiritual and emotional integration of their current health crisis and bringing a positive outcome.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Licensed or Commissioned to Ministry by Church
  • Endorsement by local church, diocese, or denomination
  • 1 year Technical Experience
  • Intermittent hand manipulation required
  • Intermittent lifting and carrying of 20 pounds

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree preferred
  • Pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree and Clinical Pastoral Education expected.
  • Ordination optional

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, provides, and documents pastoral care to the patients, families and staff daily.
  • Determine spiritual needs and a plan of care.
  • Works with area Ministers
  • Proactively participates in inter-disciplinary delivery of holistic patient care services through rounding, inter-departmental meetings, and family conferences.
  • Provides appropriate pastoral care through the sacraments, ordinances, rituals and blessings as needed.
  • Maintains appropriate follow-up care with patient/families.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
