About The Position
Responsible for assessing spiritual needs, provides spiritual care and pastoral counseling to patients/families/employees. The fundamental function of the Chaplain Associate is to make tangible the presence of God as he/she provides pastoral ministry in the health care setting. The Chaplain Associate assists individuals with spiritual and emotional integration of their current health crisis and bringing a positive outcome.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Licensed or Commissioned to Ministry by Church
- Endorsement by local church, diocese, or denomination
- 1 year Technical Experience
- Intermittent hand manipulation required
- Intermittent lifting and carrying of 20 pounds
Nice To Haves
- Associate’s degree preferred
- Pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree and Clinical Pastoral Education expected.
- Ordination optional
Responsibilities
- Assesses, provides, and documents pastoral care to the patients, families and staff daily.
- Determine spiritual needs and a plan of care.
- Works with area Ministers
- Proactively participates in inter-disciplinary delivery of holistic patient care services through rounding, inter-departmental meetings, and family conferences.
- Provides appropriate pastoral care through the sacraments, ordinances, rituals and blessings as needed.
- Maintains appropriate follow-up care with patient/families.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
